Mayline products are now being indoor air quality tested under the Intertek Green Leaf VOC certification program.

Intertek is a global organization specializing in third-party testing and certification. Mayline utilizes Intertek testing labs for many of our mechanical ANSI/BIFMA testing. They have 35,000 plus employees in over 100 countries conducting testing. Throughout their certification programs Intertek has certified/listed over 65,000 products for more than 10,000 clients.

In the Intertek Green Leaf certification program, independent ISO 17025 accredited laboratories are utilized to conduct the testing to the ANSI/BIFMA X7.1 Standard for Formaldehyde and TVOC Emissions of Low-emitting Office Furniture and Seating which is used in conjunction with the ANSI/BIFMA M7.1 Standard Test Method for Determining VOC Emissions From Office Furniture Systems, Components and Seating. This certification will show compliance to such criteria for Individual Volatile Organic Concentration (VOC) Limits as stated in credit 7.6.1 and credit 7.6.2 of ANSI/BIFMA e3 level Sustainable Furniture Standard.

The Green Leaf Certification has two distinct classifications. One is the Green Leaf VOC to evaluate the product for Total VOC’s and show conformance to ANSI/BIFMA e3-2011e credit 7.6.1. Two is the Green Leaf VOC+ to evaluate the product to Individual VOC’s and show conformance to ANSI/BIFMA e3-2011e credit 7.6.2.

Compliance with the Green Leaf emissions factors can be included in the requirements for U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC)’s “Green Building Rating System for Commercial Interiors” (LEED ID+C, 2009) IEQc4.5 Low-Emitting Materials, System Furniture and Seating.
